Salt Smart Practices encompasses all aspects of a successful winter maintenance program from pre-season planning to post-season evaluation. Whether you drive a snowplow, supervise a crew or answer phone calls from residents or clients, we all have a role in reducing the impacts of chlorides used while maintaining the expected level of safety for the public.
The Salt Smart Collaborative is designed to provide information and examples from our member organizations, materials we have developed with guidance from steering committees and resources from beyond Illinois.
